1. Overview

Sketella ("the App") is a conversational AI calendar assistant. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how the App handles your information.

2. Data We Collect

Your calendar, reminders, and chat archive are stored on your device. We do not maintain user accounts or external databases for personal content. The following is created and stored locally:

• Chat messages between you and Sketella
• Conversation sessions and titles
• App preferences (default calendar, reminder settings, time defaults, language)
• A local display of your usage counters

Calendar events and reminders Sketella creates on your behalf are written directly to Apple's native Calendar and Reminders apps via EventKit. They live in your iCloud account if you have iCloud Calendar / Reminders sync enabled — that sync is between you and Apple, Sketella has no role in it.

We store an app-generated device identifier and authentication token, usage and security counters, operation records and one-way input fingerprints to prevent duplicate processing, and your server timezone setting to operate the service. Purchase verification uses necessary transaction identifiers and entitlement status. These identifiers are not your name, email, Apple ID or payment details. Chat history and calendar records are stored on your device. We do not use advertising or tracking SDKs.

The public Sketella website uses Google Analytics 4 to measure page views and App Store link clicks. Website analytics may include the visited URL, referrer, approximate region, browser/device category, and event names such as app_store_click. It does not include calendar data, reminders, chat messages, files, voice audio, Apple ID, or the App's anonymous device token.

3. AI Conversational Features

Before the first AI request, the App asks for your permission to use real-time AI processing. If you allow it, Sketella sends only the content you choose to submit — typed text, shared text or links, images or files, OCR text, and voice audio or transcripts — plus limited context such as current date, timezone, preferences, and recent events from the current conversation.

After you allow AI processing, the content you submit and necessary context pass through our secure service to third-party AI or speech services. Context can include date, timezone, preferences, up to ten recent messages, a summary of recent extracted events, and matching calendar candidates when you ask to find, edit or delete events. Those contents may include names or addresses you supplied. We do not upload your full calendar, contacts, device location or Apple ID. We do not retain request content in our server databases or operational logs after processing. We retain only the service metadata described above. Processing services handle content under their applicable terms and data settings; Sketella does not authorize advertising, tracking or model training with your request content.

This content is processed in real time to fulfill your request. We do not store it on our servers after the request is completed, and it is not used by Sketella for advertising, tracking, or model training. Your chat archive is stored on your device; limited recent context is transmitted as described above.

4. Voice Input

When you use voice input, your iPhone sends microphone audio to a third-party speech recognition service for real-time transcription. The transcription is returned to your device. We do not store audio recordings or transcripts on our server, and we do not keep a server copy after processing. The speech service handles audio under its applicable terms and data settings.

5. Photo OCR

The App requests camera and photo library access for the photo-to-event feature. Where possible, text is extracted on your device and the necessary text is sent for AI event extraction. Images may be sent when local extraction is insufficient. Images are processed in real time and discarded immediately after extraction. We do not store images or the extracted text on our server.

6. Shared Content Import

When you share text, links, images, PDFs, or email content to Sketella through the iOS Share sheet, a temporary copy is stored on your device for import. It is removed after handling or refusal; expired abandoned copies are cleaned up when Sketella next opens. After you allow AI processing, submitted content may be sent through our secure service for event extraction. Imported messages and retry content remain in your local conversation until you delete it. Our server does not retain request content after processing.

7. Calendar & Reminders Permissions

The App requests Calendar and Reminders permission to create events and reminders on your behalf. Sketella only writes events that you have explicitly confirmed via the chat interface. You can revoke either permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.

8. Purchases

In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Sketella does not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details. Our service uses necessary transaction identifiers and verified entitlement status to manage access and usage limits.

9. Third-Party Services

Sketella relies on the following external services:

• Secure server infrastructure — receives and protects requests needed to operate AI features.
• Third-party AI and speech processing services — receive user-submitted content only as needed for real-time processing.
• Apple StoreKit — for in-app purchase verification, handled by the operating system.
• Google Analytics 4 — receives limited website analytics events from the public Sketella website only.

We require third-party providers that handle request content to provide the same or equivalent protection for this limited processing. We do not authorize the use of Sketella request content for advertising or tracking. We do not integrate advertising networks or social media tracking.

10. Data Retention & Deletion

Since chat history and preferences are stored locally on your device, you have full control:

• Delete individual conversations in the chat list at any time
• Reset all preferences via Settings
• Deleting the App removes its local chat and preferences container; it does not revoke your server identity or delete server metadata
• Calendar events and reminders Sketella created are stored in Apple's Calendar / Reminders apps and follow Apple's data lifecycle. To delete them, use the Calendar / Reminders apps directly, or use Sketella's "Clean up all calendar events created by Sketella" maintenance tool in Settings

The app-generated identifier and token are stored in the device Keychain. Authentication, usage, operation and purchase-verification metadata have no automatic deletion deadline in the current service; they support access, recovery, duplicate-request protection and abuse prevention. Deleting a conversation or the App does not delete these server records. To request deletion of server metadata, contact sketella@uppervoid.app.

11. Children's Privacy

Sketella does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The App is rated 4+ and does not require any personal information to function.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the App with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
